Traveling around Mexico
We love Mexico! It is wonderful to have a neighbor that is so close and offers such wonderful beaches and weather, but what really makes Mexico special are the people and the culture.
Having traveled the Gulf Coast, Pacific Coast and Baja, it is not easy to choose which is the favorite spot. Certainly they all offer fantastic beaches, incredible food and there is nothing quite like an ice cold Negra Modelo or Margarita while enjoying a beautiful sunset!
The one place to which we continue to return is Yelapa located on the Pacific Coast southwest of Puerto Vallarta. You take a water taxi from PV to get to Yelapa, since there are no roads or cars in Yelapa and that is part of the charm of Yelapa. It is a small fishing village that offers a beautiful beach, great swimming and a wonderful place to relax. We have stayed at the Lagunitas Hotel on the beach almost everytime we have visited Yelapa. It has a very good restaurant and wonderful massage therapists!
